The Schools Division of Guimaras is one of the 223 Schools Division Offices of the Department of Education (DepEd) that oversees the operations of and provides support to 115 public schools and 19 private schools in the Province.

The DepEd Vision, Mission, and Quality Policy Statement give SDO Guimaras the driving sense of purpose in providing the Guimarasnon learners with quality basic education that is accessible, relevant, liberating, and inclusive.

With the competent leadership of its education leaders, SDO Guimaras responds to the pressing demands of the time by pursuing programs and projects consistent with the national educational standards and policies as embodied in its Division Education Development Plan.

SDO Guimaras endeavors to focus on its core educational mandate of improving learning outcomes thus, monitoring and evaluation mechanism and provision of technical assistance to schools and learning centers are institutionalized. Moreover, stakeholders are engaged to pitch in their resources and services as the Schools Division ventures into educational initiatives geared towards the realization of its goals and objectives. The Schools Division also ensures that human, financial and material resources are effectively and efficiently managed and equitably provided to schools. Professional development of teaching and non-teaching personnel is given paramount importance. These are stunning proofs that the Schools Division puts the learners and their holistic development at the top of its priorities.

Its passion for excellence is manifested by the awards it has received such as Top 5 Finalist in SY 2019-2020 and SY 2020-2021 Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Curriculum and Instruction (National Level).

SDO Guimaras shall continue to give its best shot to produce Champion learners imbued with values and competencies who are envisioned to be contributors in the progress of the Province of Guimaras in particular and country in general.
